Love the stuff! But yeah, it's not the easiest thing to work with. I'm a little afraid of my ends coming unwoven after washing. Crossing my fingers they hold!
I used knots. simply for the following reasons. if I did not put a knot in, the ends became unspun and unmanageable. whenever I got to the end of a skein I would knot it. I also knotted my needle and thread on both ends. without it I would not have been able to get anything done. tis a bit slippery for my tastes.
Oh yeah, all of my hanging ends have knots to keep them from fraying. But as I weave them in, I snip off the knots. I may have to actually tie knots in some places when I weave in the ends, but so far I've had seams to weave into, and they seem to be holding it OK.
So far.
I'll probably hand-wash the sweater, just to make sure that the whole thing doesn't fall apart!
With the lacy-ness of the gown though, I'd totally go with knots, no questions asked! Stockinette though, I'm going to see if it holds. But I will probably tie a few knots (after weaving too) as well! Especially in the sleeves.
