funny, I wove in the ends and ADDED a knot. it was just to darn slippery for anything else. whatever works. :)

With the lacy-ness of the gown though, I'd totally go with knots, no questions asked! Stockinette though, I'm going to see if it holds. But I will probably tie a few knots (after weaving too) as well! Especially in the sleeves.
