good day vibes
Jul. 1st, 2004 11:47 amDo you ever wake up in the morning and just KNOW it is going to be a good day?? Well today I did. I woke up an hour early, got my stuff done I wanted to get done, spent some quality time talking with SleepySue and got to work 10 mins early! I was greeted at my desk by the mail guy who handed me a lovely heavy box of goodies from my Philly SP. Inside was a scarf that I put on immediately cos it matched my outfit for the day.. and I never wear yellow to work cos it always gets all icky. She sent me yarn, stationery stuff, a photo book and an asian picture. I am soooo happy.
Just when I started to calm down, I got a call from a friend who's back from Japan.. she brought me lovely Noro silk garden in a weight I have never seen: fine. I have about 700 yds of a great yarn to play with.. I see a tank or a shawl in my future.. She told me about trying to talk to the salesperson about the yarn. and then suddenly realizing she had NO idea how much to buy. *laugh* and the translations for the yarns she picked out: summer or winter. and the mime game of how much to buy was a mimic of someone buttoning a cardigan or pulling over a sweater. I'm glad I asked for yarn, but I think the way she bought it makes an even better story. And the beaded purse I sent her sister was well received.. her mother doesn't believe I make such beautiful things. I see myself making a beaded something or other for her mom for the holidays.
I better get back to work, but man.. what a great day! Even knitty is up.. and I think the ideas are great. (sidenote: kudos to Amy for making a very cool pair of thigh high stockings!!)
