news tidbits and such and such

I've been a busy bee since the slump is over. perhaps too much of one.. knitting on wee baby needles on wee baby items makes one have not so wee elbow pain. So I've slowed down on the christening outfit. I have 9 inches done and so I feel confident that I can put it down and not feel guilt :)
I did contact MANNA and saw that they have a craft auction entitled "A Show of Hands" and I offered to knit up one of my fabu purses. Bigger needles, looser tension. no pain! They were thrilled and I am feeling good about helping out. I talked it over with my boss and she said she would keep me in mind for the next Rock School of Ballet auction too.
All of these things are wonderful, with the small exception that I received some sad news yesterday. 2 of my friends are being effected by cancer right now and I need to try to concentrate some warm and happy thoughts their way. One person caught their cancer WAAAAAAAYYYYY early and so I remind everyone to do their breast exams and see your drs for your yearly physicals. OK?? She caught it early and they gave her a very good prognosis, but I did offer her to go and get my head shaved when she does. The other person will not be so lucky. Another friend's father has inoperable lung cancer. So she has gone out to help her parents, drive her dad around and help get her mom out there to be more independent. He has 2-7 months to live depending on how well he takes the chemo. Sue and I really are thinking all sorts of good thoughts for these people. I hope you guys will too.
And now for something completely different. I wanted to give you another quiz. see mine:
