since getting back home I have had too much info to tell you guys and too little time to do it all in. So I am going to try to be brief (haha.. stop laughing back there!)

My cousin, Chris, died in Sept 2001 of luekemia. His brother wanted to do something to raise money to help others and this is what he came up with. If you like punk bands and want to hear a great compilation, this is a great way to spend about $5 and hear a lot of newer bands. The money goes to the leukemia society. Pass the word on!!

So I did some knitting while I was away. I haven't done much since I got back. But here is a pic of the most recent purse for Amber: Amber's Purse I hope she likes it. I really loved making it (even if I frogged it 3 times!!) I REALLY REALLY wanted to try this new design in my head. (I still want to so I won't elaborate now. perhaps I'll try it again another time.) so I started on the plane. I used up an entire ball of kureyon and realized.... this will be too damn big AND i think it will felt funny (I had too many directions for it to shrink, but not enough sides.) So I frogged by unknitting it and starting it again from the back of the skein to the front. I was almost done when my mom looked over and said, "is that for your sister? its too small. She needs something much larger than that" ACK! I will admit that I decided to hear it from Amber what size she liked. She told me that the orange pink and burgandy bag was the "perfect size" something small like that. *gulp* um that was a mid-size bag and the one I was currently knitting would be smaller. So again, unknitting and knitting it all over again.
This time I can give you the info. CO 70 stitches. knit until 2 balls of kureyon gone, or until bag measures 18-20 inches on size 11 needles. purl 4 rows and then transfer first 35 stitches onto a size 11 DPN. do a 3 needle bind off. Now cast on 35 from the top and knit 3 inches. next garter st each row until the last 3 stitches. k2tog, k. (this will give you a nice even triangle top) when only 3 stitches in the row remain, bind off. knit an i-cord for 4 ft. also knit an i-cord for the edging. Personally I like to knit the cord and sew it on the bag because I find it results in a neater edging. You can knit the i-cord edging directly on the bag. attach 4 ft i-cord to the inside of the bag for the over the shoulder handle look.

I hope this helps amber feel better with her doggie woes. I think this is the 4th time her puppie has eaten her glasses. It even ingested the actual "glass" part. I hope she did not have to wait for it to leave the body to take them in to get replaced EW!

ok it is late. more to say but i'll do it later. it is way late and the sweety has to get up early. (which means I have to too!) I have more exciting pics and stuff. but I'll just edit this later.
