Scooby -doo, where are you?
Sep. 15th, 2004 12:37 pmOver here!
I've been working on lots of things.. mostly cross stitch, altho I did pick up and start a knitting project this week. But mostly I have been cat sitting, catsitting, with a side of catsitting. Sue started school this past week, so I have been getting up at the crack of ass to help get her out the door. This helps me get to the catsitting engagements, as well as gives me time to get some things done around the house. This weekend my mother is coming to visit and I need to get the house in shape for the visit. She is coming out for the new Native American Museum in DC. The original plans have been scrapped (several times) and she is now flying directly to DC and will spend the night here this weekend. She wants to show my cousin around Philly, NYC and spend the week down in DC with him. Add to this a dash of an experiment with a new over the counter med that went awry and I'm just too pooped to pop. I am looking forward to heading to NYC this weekend (Sunday) and DC next week (Thursday.)
I wanted to at least show you some work. Here are 3 lizzie*kates I have done without their trinkets. (I am going to put the trinkets on last.) I have June, July and Aug done. I did a modification to July, and I plan on doing one to the March one I have as well. I get Jan, Feb, April, May, Sept-Nov this weekend. I'm really looking forward to completing the cross stitch so I can create the hardanger inserts around the pieces. I am putting them all on one piece of linen with the pattern arranged 3X4. I've measured out room for the hardanger and placed one basic row of it without cutting the threads yet. This is going to be for Sue's mom (and possibly dad) holiday present. I hope it all works out. The second picture shows July and Aug side by side... sorry for the crappy foto.. I was too tired to take them individually and the flash and placement makes it look like it has a weird bulge.
The knitting?? Well I've started a scarf from YarnaGoGo for Cassa's husband. (Christmas present) And I want to start (but need the needles) for Cassa's present: Hush-hush. I'll get them on Thursday when I go to TW knit in. I also need to pick up the final bits for my KR Secret Pal present. I got her stuff from Halcyon I ordered yesterday. WOW. I hope she likes it as much as I do! Pics when things look more like presents and less like blobs.
Thanks for all the lovely comments on snowdrop. I want to edge her NOW. I also have 3 sweaters that I want to make for me RIGHT NOW. But the holly-daze call.

Date: 2004-09-15 06:03 pm (UTC)Geez are you ambitious!
I'm getting more tired just reading all that you are doing. I may be scrapping some of the xmas gifts I'm working on.
I hope things go well.

Date: 2004-09-15 06:17 pm (UTC)not ambitious. crazy maybe.
I scrapped the orig project for cassa. she was making hush hush and ran into a problem and frogged the whole thing. I sorta feel like I could give her something she would want (hard to do). The scarf is easy.. and honestly... fast. I'll ahve it done long before the other stuff gets done.
i'll most likely scrap many projects too. but i figure aim high and have a realistic look at it.
how are you feeling today?

Date: 2004-09-16 02:08 pm (UTC)finishing your winter one would be lovely! I figure if I do a few rows a nite I'll have it done in time.

Date: 2004-09-16 04:31 pm (UTC)Other small quick projects I really like are Shepherd's Bush leaflets. The small sampler ones, with rows of multiple specialty stitches. Those are great for someone like me, with not the longest attention span.
