I need to figure out if Sue and I are going to do a CSA this yr. I think we can swing it, and I want to.. but I need to figure out which one is right for us.

This link looks like it will be able to help steer me. I just found this site and figured if you need to find a CSA farmers market or farm in your area you might want it too.

I love the Farm to city website, but the local harvest one seems able to point out stuff across the country.

Today on the Today Show they talked about the 12 food items that usually carry the most pesticides. I need to get that list again and put it on my fridge.. Pesky mac had it up once on her blog. I just need to copy it down.

here is that list )

The flower show last nite was very nice. We got some african violets (Sue always buys her mother one for mother's day) and some fancy local soap. We also got some bulbs and a few seeds. I plan on putting out the containers when it gets warm. I really would love to grow some tomatoes again, but I know that is not a good idea on our corner.. so perhaps some basil and then leave the rest of the herbs inside. Has anyone got any good suggestions for growing some lettuce under grow lights? I even got a seed catalogue from D. Landreth Seed Company.. the oldest seed company in america.
