Sep. 28th, 2004 02:42 pmI've been house/cat sitting this week and so I feel good. I always feel refreshed from visiting someone else's house, taking care of their pets, and generally not having my average routine. It is a good shake up of the soul, ya know? Swarthmore is a lovely area, the walk to the train is invigorating, and the cat is a lovey. (Altho her response to this would be something along the lines of: bug off!)
I'm still in the last throes of this blasted cold, which means I have occassional coughing fits that come from no where and leave me exhasted 5 minutes later. Truly it is making me eat less simply b'c my stomache is so tired from coughing it doesn't have the energy to digest anything. Perhaps I do need more sit-ups in my life if they are going to curb my appetite like this. But overall I am feeling much, much better... thanks to those who emailed and asked if I was OK.
Heard word from Audrey's mom this morning saying she loves the pictures I sent her of the completed sweater. I am really in love with it myself, and fancy making one for me with similar stripes. The yarn was called Charisma and was sent as a present from the UK. I highly recommend it as a good solid wool sweater. I can see it being useful for durable wear items. (the only catch: handwash, lay flat to dry.. but then again this is a solid rustic wool that would give years of use)
I'm a tad bit jealous of Em going to see Rachel. They are 2 blogs I stumbled upon early in my blogland world. They are both people I highly respect, and wish I could spend time with myself. Funny, isn't it? All of these imaginary friends spread all over creation and we rarely get to meet up in person. I will content myself by knitting with the yarn Em gave me for a trade of Morehouse. Its knitting up into a really lovely Hush-hush. I have 3 1/2 inches on it. (Only 23 more to go!) I figure if I knit an inch a day I can have it done in time for her trip to Paris. Basically I've told her that this is her holiday present from me. I think after making this for her I will be exhausted!
And finally I am knitting a swatch for the gloves for my uncle. 4s are a wee bit too big, 2s are too small. Looks like I'll be knitting on 3s all the time from here until the holidays.
