purlewe: (knit)
This weekend was chocablock full.

Saturday morning we went to DE to see R and her 2 children. We got the added bonus of seeing R's mom and going out to a chinese buffet. Yummy food and friendship all around.

Then we dashed home to get ready and go to a wedding. Trish and Craig got married at the ACE center. It was a lovely wedding in a lovely setting. It was a slightly misty nite, the ACE center had windows everywhere we turned, and the sun was setting making everything a lovely haze of blue. I'm glad we went. They are a great couple and I am happy that they are so happy together. Sue and I will be watching their kitties for a few weeks while they go gallivanting off on their honeymoon.

Sunday I went to the Phillyknitters SnB which was great b'c we got to do our big secret pal reveal. I was very happy that both my secret pals were there: I was giving things to alisak, and squirella was sending things to me. It was really nice to get to really spend time with people in person. And I loved all the wonderful things everyone received. My beaded scarf went over well (I think Alisak really liked it!!)

My secret pal squirella made me a fabu purse! I'm so lucky! Thanks for making my secret pal exchange so wonderful squirella, you are the best!

O there was stitching and bitching and alot of good yummy food. (Jackie I am going to make that farafelle recipe. Thanks for posting it!!) Afterwords Sue and I were both reading at church, so I booked home and when I got there I had 2 knitting surprises.. Deloris brought me a card from a yarn shop she saw in West Chester. She even had them cut a little bit of yarn and tape it to the card for me. The store is called Woven. Anyone ever been there?? The other thing was crochet (so not really knitting) but a member of the congregation brought me her Nana's unfinished work. I don't know how to crochet yet, but I guess I better get cracking. See it here (with a closeup of the fabulous Lehnen) and a closeup here.

It was a really lovely weekend. I got several rows of the shawl done (I even untangled the entire skein.) I wound another ball of morehouse and will start shading the last 56 rows before I have to put the edging on. Yippee!! Pics of the shawl when the triangle is complete!
