**edit. pics were added but they were crappy. so I deleted them. Perhaps later today.

Had a lovely, lovely time this weekend. FINALLY a weekend with weather cooperating and outside activities planned.

Indigo Girls (IG) were fantastic. We had great seats right behind the soundboard. Perfect accoustics and they were having a blast. IG played almost all of the new album, their most social activist album to date, and very few oldies. I had a blast dancing up a storm and generally frightening the people around me. :) On the last song (before the encore) Amy played Go. When she got to the refrain she expected us to sing it, and the audience was silent cos we were dancing too hard and in awe of her raw energy. She threw her head back and LAUGHED and said "you guys missed the cue!" It was so great because it was such a genuine moment of happiness for her. It was a wonderful night and Sue was great to give me such an awesome anniversary present.

I went to Annie Modesitt's house on saturday for my knitting with wire class. We had some troubles getting out of the city and getting up to Annie's house, so I was late. I called ahead and found out that the other students had all cancelled except me. I felt so bad showing up late and taking up Annie's day, but she was as gracious as ever. She showed me the rudimentaries of wire knitting and then gave me that chance to look through her own personal glass beads! I picked out some lovely light purple and clear baubles and she taught me how to knit wire in the round to make what I affectionately call my Wonder Woman cuff bracelet. No, it isn't gold and red, but I felt like Wonder Woman wearing it. I got to see some of her current projects as well as some of her things she has created in the past. Everytime I meet this woman I am awed by how much she knows about so many different crafts, and how well she executes them. She even showed me some lovely hand-pounded silver earings that looked like small seahorses. I think Annie is just the nicest person to take a class from. We talked about this and that while I worked on my project and she made a baby outfit. I can't wait to get started on some of my christmas projects.

After that Sue and I worked the carnival booth at Sue's old school. She had been working there all week, and I pitched in to help the last nite. It was very nice and we had a great view of the firework display at the end of the night. It is nice to help out the very little I can, because I know how much Sue loves teaching children. And seeing them talk to her, I know how much they love her as their teacher.

Sunday our team had to forfeit both games. I am not going to say anything more than it makes me so angry/sad/frustrated. It was a gorgeous day outside and since we couldn't play Sue and I went down to the shore to visit her aunt and uncle and kids at the beach. We pitched in and babysat last nite so they could go to dinner alone and have some peace and quiet. The day was PERFECT and we spent most all of it on the beach. We put the kids to bed after dinner and sat around giggling about how silly they are. By the time the parents got home we were just a ball full of giggles and I am sure the folks thought we were too silly for words.

I did swatch for my bikini on the beach (I figure if I am gonna wear it there, I can knit it there too.) and I think it is gonna be gorgeous. I bought the needles for it today and I plan on starting to figure out the gauge swatch vs. my body size tonite and tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of this week I will have something resembling the beginnings of a bikini when I meet Amy on Friday. I am so excited to meet her in person. She is my knitting shero. I also can't wait to meet her husbeast J and see her gorgeous art.

reswatched last night while babysitting on size 3s. I LOVE this yarn. Cascade fixation would make a lovely summer tank that would hold its shape and be very sexy.
