back in aught six..

purleweYou know you feel old when back in aught six everything was better. It wasn't in real life, but you can look back and gloss over all the bits that made life so damn hard and see the shiny happy that made life so beautiful.
The one thing that made life so damn beautiful last year was my friends. Oooh boy, what a sad sorry sack I would have been without you guys. Just knowing you folks kept the homicidal killing spree at bay for one more year. :)
I am pleased as punch that a new year is making the corner. I love getting to have fresh starts. I also love how many new years there are out there. The orthodox version to the chinese version.. makes you happy to see all the different ways life can be lived. (I feel an Auntie Mame moment coming...) sucking the marrow of life and all that.
Sue and I spent the new year with dear friends in Albany. They, in turn, took us to their dear friend's house for the actual NYE party. 4 hours of Absolutely Fabulous and a toast with the ball dropping.
Today is a new day. Every day is one, but the beginning of the yr feels fresher somehow. I have some yarn on the needles and some projects brewing in my head. I wish you and yours some creativity and beauty in your coming year. Oh yes, and good friends. Everybody deserves a whole peck of them.
