tired but back at work
Jun. 28th, 2004 11:07 amJust a quick note, more to come later with pics and good stuff.
Glad LJ is back up. I know it must be very hard to keep this thing running, but MAN was it ever frustrating last week.
Sue and I had a great time up in NY visiting the fabulous Amy and seeing my aunt and her fam (and Dani and her fam.) Meeting Amy was great, even with the craziness of trying to meet in a cell-dead area.. "we're walking we're walking and we're stopping." Her husbeast is very nice and I think everyone had fun. My aunt and uncle let us all have a huge dinner over at their farm and we spent some time in the barn while Wynn showed off his tractors and explained how to make ice cream with 2 tractors. (If you want to see pics of tractor ice cream making look here, here, and here.
The craft show was nice, but now that I've had time to think about it I probably should have sat at Amy's booth and let the 2 of them walk around. I feel kinda like a doofus for not thinking about that sooner. I got to see her wonderful pottery. Sue and I bought some presents and I made my christmas wishlist while in her booth. I was really good and only looked at most of the booths while we were there.. altho I really really liked the capes at this one booth.. and now I don't know their name!! But right before we left I bought 2 necklaces from a dichroic (??) glass maker. I really like them and am wearing one now.
My softball team could field a team. We played and lost both games but had fun. The commish announced at the end of the games that they are closing our team after this year b'c of the forfeits. So its official now. No more Uncles. We only have 4 more games as a team.

More secret pal input required!
Date: 2004-06-28 05:19 pm (UTC)At any rate, I've grouped the samples in sets of threes. Mix and match or leave as is, tell me which ones you like the best and which ones are absolute NO-NOs:
1. Purple with small white flowers, soft green with big white flowers, and green with purple and white flowers
2. Soft green with white leafy sprigs, mottled gray-green with grayer-green, and dark green with light green sprigs
3. Green-on-green tie-dyed like, lavender with purple flowers, light green with uphostlery-looking blue and purple flowers
(I can't guarantee the yardage on any of these, so there may be slight alterations to the finished product--but at least this way I can get a feel for something. AND, if there's something else that you totally love --yellows and reds, say, instead of greens and purples-- speak up, fair pal!)
And, as a person clue, here's the view out of one of my windows:
Leafy green, isn't it?
Hope all is well with you. There will be a small package this week!

Date: 2004-06-28 09:04 pm (UTC)first of all.. wow! I'm really overwhelmed. And so I have been sitting here at my desk all day just sort of shell shocked. WOW. you don't even know me that well and you are picking out such beautiful fabrics. Thank you.
Since I don't know the project I would guess that it needs 3 fabrics huh? (yes, I dated 2 rocket scientists.. astonding isn't it) So I'll group in 3s. ok?
soft green with white leafy sprigs, purple with small white flowers, lavendar with purple flowers is fabu..
so would an all green ensemble: soft green with big white flowers, soft green with white leafy sprigs and either dark green with light green sprigs or green with purple and white flowers (of those last 2 you could pick.. I like them equally.)
Thank you!!!
