Well, since the lollapalooza tour is no longer, I bring you boobapalooza! Trying to knit a bikini is going to bring as many laughs and fun as the concert. And I might even go on tour!

So I finally finished that swatch of the cascade fixation, figured up my gauge and am going to CO today at lunch for my very own tankini. I've been told that my bikini endeavors are really 2 piece endeavors.. a shorty kinda tank with a pair of boy shorts. But I agree with Amy, if it comes out fabulous, I'll be calling it a bikini all summer long. I really love this yarn.. Cascade makes some great products. I had the choice of cascade or Classic Elite Starrs (also with lycra!) I chose the cascade, but both companies are great, so perhaps I'll knit something up for next summer out of starrs? I could see the vogue summer 2004 cover tank being knit up in this.. altho I know it would be a completely different look, I think it would be just as sexy.

I also got some MAJOR storage cleaning done. I took over a very full truckload (THANKS ERIN!) to storage last nite. I have had this pile of crap waiting for storage for (mumble mumble) months. I packed it all the nite before and started hauling it up the stairs when Erin called to say she was on her way. It went pretty painlessly. I was amazed. I can now stand in my apt and swing my arms in that mary tyler moore circle and sing "we're gonna make it after all!" So very little knitting was done last nite. I got home in time to watch sex and the city while I did my knitters math. I went to bed with the beginnings of a severe allergy/head cold. I hope to be rid of it by the time I am on the road to NY tomorrow to meet Amy.

So tomorrow I head to Rhinebeck to see the craft show on saturday and meet Amy. Sunday, I am hoping the team gets its act together and we can play this weekend. It will be chock-full this weekend and I'll be dragging on monday, but it will be worth it. Plenty of car knitting time. Plenty of time to gab with Sue. And I get to go to my aunt's house, which is one of my favorite places to visit.

hope everything's going well for you...

there will also be a visual element and you'll have to pick which one or combination of different sets you like.

also, what is your favorite thing to knit?

eek. this is hard. um, almost everything? perhaps it would be easier to say what I don't like to (or want to) knit. Socks. I don't want to do socks. And dishcloths. I'm not a fan. But I could knit for hours on things like sweaters, lace shawls, felted items, small things like scarves and hats. I have never tried gloves or mittens, but I don't think I'd dislike them. I'v always wanted to make felted clogs.. but then there is teh sock thing *haha* and so I've put them off. Somehow b'c they are felted I am not averse. I am not a novelty yarn type of girl, so I would probably say those frou frou things are right out.

PS thank you SP for already making my summer special.
