I like-a the cake
Nov. 30th, 2006 11:25 amI don't have a Marjorie icon.. but I always love the Little Britain sketch with the "Fat Fighters" and Marjorie calling everyone FAT COW!
Anyway, I made 2 cakes last nite. One is for today at work.. it is a Chocolate Gingerbread but without the mini chocolate chips. It comes from the advertising section of Dec 2006 Gourmet. The other is the same recipe but with orange extract instead of ginger/cinn/allspice flavoring and WITH the chips. That one is for tonite since Sue hates ginger.
It is a really simple cake and since it is just an advertisement I thought I would put the recipe here. I haven't made a "fake cake" in yrs. I usually do them from scratch.. but since I was making 2 of them I wanted to just get it over with.
1 chocolate cake mix
1 box of chocolate pudding (4 serving size)
4 eggs
1 tbl ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c veg oil
1/2 c molasses
1/2 c water
1 mag mini chocolate chips
mix thoughly in mixer for 2 minutes. add chocolate chips and stir in by hand. pour into a prepared bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. (Mine took more like 1 hr 20 mins)
add a nice white icing or cnofectioners sugar when cool.
