So yesterday a friend took me to Naked Chocolate Cafe to cheer me up. Losing Dan has been quite a blow and since we both worked with him it was nice to get out and commisserate over out misery.

She wouldn't tell me the destination. Just kept saying we were "going for a drink." Knowing she can't have alcohol I wondered if it was apple cider (to celebrate fall weather) or perhaps hot chocolate. NOTHING prepared me for the decadence that is Naked hot chocolate.

I've been told it is very much like the french hot chocolate. DAMN. Very rich, very thick, and unbelieveable. We even got a cupcake, but we didn't need it.

Here is the review with all the particulars (for Jackie, who asked for it) http://www.aroundphilly.com/article.php?a_id=3265

HIGHLY recommended.

I can say it was an amazing experience and I want to go back.

But I need to wait until I don't feel so over chocolified.

Maybe we could get people to go right after work on Friday? I suspect lunchtime might be a little much!

I can't do after work stuff because I need to get home to the dawgs - they need a walkie asap after being Home Alone all day!

I was going to suggest pre-ulysses group, but I think I may take a fit and be a basket case from the divine chocolateness - and I'm not sure it goes with beer! We'll figure something out!!

I've walked by that place a lot and it is tres charmant. It's good to know I can get a few things there, but I know I'd be missing out on most of the fun (the smell would be great, though, I'm sure!)

Oh but the Chapterhouse has mexican hot cocoa that is vegan, I'm definitely going to give that a whirl soon.

Sipping chocolate, you say? That sounds like something I could get into!

Let me know if anyone is going in the near future, I would love to tag along.

They have all sorts of amazing vegan drinks at Chapterhouse. Last night I had an "apple spice" which was milkshake-like, and had hunks of apple, soy milk, and chai! Mm mm. Their coconut drink is really good too. All of their smoothies are vegan except for one, and a lot of their other drinks (like the mexican cocoa, etc) are vegan unless you make it otherwise! Isn't that a nice thing.
