Tonite is the knit in at TW and I am soooo very excited. I love sittin and knittin with these ladies. Since it is only once a month, it helps build the excitement for me. I am planning on being good tonite (no yarn is really on my MUST HAVE list) but I am thinking about the chain mail tank for my boss if the price is right. Great thing about my boss. She likes to buy things from me and so makes my experiments more interesting. I just need to learn to crochet if I am going to make the thing!!

Found this great link to help me learn to crochet. Thought I would pass it along.

Next, I am sorry about the non-picture goodness. I know that I have several people clammering for christening outfit pics. I did bind off last nite. It took 2 tries though. I wanted a scallopy edge (dontcha love how I just add that -y at the end of words and make it sound more fun?) The first try did not work. (In fact it was a non-flattering sausage type item. yummy!) I picked up the stitches and tried again. I got a nice scallopy edge and a not too tight bind off by making sure that the row before I cast off I *k1, yo* the entire outfit. Then I cast off with a needle 2xs larger. I think it worked out well. Now I have to knit the arms.. (and supposedly the bootie socks.. ) I just wish the kid some short arms, let me tell ya!! (J/K)

CW. I have little to say about my languishing CW. I did catch up to where I had originally frogged and left it in the bag. I most likely will work on it tonite. I was trying so hard to get the Christening gown to a stopping point. And those darn baby arms are still looming over my head :) but I did find a site that had some pointers for all you Charlotte fanatics. I think it works well for any lace you might knit. So I am giving you the link here. Its under her May 7th entry. Very helpful for those of us who don't wish to forever be frogging. And yes, I am putting in a lifeline tonite.

Lastly. I have been asked by a friend if I want anything from Japan. I do, but I have no idea what to ask for. Any suggestions out there? I even said yarn, so any store names are helpful. I told her to just get me something she would know I would like.. but since that is about as helpful as a wet chicken on a rainy night (yes, I just made that up) I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Pics up before the end of the week. Promise!

you're funny! wet chicken. hahaha.

in reality - there's nothing funny about wet chickens. nothing
at all.

oh yeah - now the reason i posted. i'm too lazy to check out the
link - but i've heard about these before on other CW'ers blogs. what IS a lifeline?

a lifeline is a bit of yarn you run through your stitches in case yuo need to rip back to them. Say I am on the end of the 1st 2-color combo on my CW (which is exactly where I am at right now) I am gonna run a piece of yarn through the stitches before I start knitting them so I can frog back to this spot knowing I have not screwed up anything on this row. I figure I'll run one every repeat. that way if I mess up one repeat I can just do it over. I've been lazy in the past b'c I usually have not had too many problems tinking or frogging.. this time i left myself get too tired and really screwed up my CW and frogged the whole thing. No biggie.. it isn't like I need it done tomorrow.
