Jean was so very sweet to send me a photo of Aeryn in her sweater. Mommy and baby look so happy! I am so glad that Jean likes the sweater (and it fits!) so I thought I would share.

In knitting news:
I went to my TW class this weekend. LOVELY. I learned how to two-handed fair isle and I think I really got the hang of it. We were just making a swatch, so after class I frogged it, made it a size I could use for a hat and restarted. So I will eventually have a child size hat in red and black.. very nice.

Afterwards I went windowshopping and ended up over at CAKE for a spinning class from woolflowers blogger, Leigh. It was delightful outside (weather wise) and she taught me the basics, cause honestly folks.. I am not very good at it yet. We eventually went for one of her spindles (a small bosworth I believe) and some of her fiber so I can get used to it. I had a lovely time. The sun was shining and at the end I treated myself to some scrumptious food from CAKE. yum!

jackie, thanks for the compliments. I really like the color and I think the mom does too.

re: CAKE. it is a lovely bakery in Chestnut Hill. Pricey, yes.. but so is Petite Four in Old City and I've eaten both and will say that I would a) drive out of my way to get to either of them and b) they are worth it b'c you know they are made there, by hand, are fresh and tasty. I bought myself 2 cheese danish, a fruit tart (small) with kiwi and strawberries and real homemade creme anglaise, I also bought for my spinning guru 2 linzer tarts (if I had seen them earlier I would have bought some for me too, but it was an impulse thank you buy) all were yummy. I have bought cakes there. super duper wonderful. they are located on Evergreen st near Top of the Hill grocery and deli. TotH has locally grown fruits and veggies and an awesome delie/soup/salads store. I used to work up there and as a special treat (cos they ain't cheap, but nothing good ever is) I would get lunch there. and a cookie from CAKE. YUM!!

heehee.. and so I go off on the food tangent and leave you hanging about the spinning.

TotH has outdoor chairs (so does CAKE) and so I sat outside in the sun and knit until Leigh arrived and we spun some wool for awhile. I will say it will take me a bit of time to really get this spinning thing down, but Leigh was a patient teacher (or perhaps I was the patient and she was the crazy-doctor sent to put me away) So yes, outside at CAKE I KIPed and SIPed and had a fabulous time.
