dribs and drabs

Been working on Hush Hush and really there isn't much to say simply b'c I'm in the black hole-time warp part of knitting. That place where you knit and knit and measure and you are still the same amount (or less) than the last time you measured. Its like the event horizon, I need extra thrust to get past this point or else the project will swallow me whole.

But I can give you some tidbits from the past week or so. Saturday we had Sharon and John over to watch the PU v ND game. It was nice to have them over. I made the fixin's for homemade pizzas. Everyone got a slab of dough with sauce and they fixed it themselves. They brought excellent salsa and chips and I also made this gooey ooey chip dip I've seen in the midwest but have never made myself. (let's just say one of the main ingredients is velveeta.. which is an ingredient that frightens me) We had a great time. Purdue toasted ND very nicely. There was buzz before the game that if the QB beat ND he would be shortlisted for the Heisman (sp?) trophy. I'm not a big football fan, but the last time they talked about Purdue and Heisman together was when Drew Brees was there. I always thought Drew was a nice kid, too bad he didn't win it that year.

Afterwards, Sue and I got gussied up and went to the Kimmel Center to see the orchestra play some Dvorak as well as hear Sarah Chang play violin. Sue and I really enjoyed ourselves. Its nice to get gussied up and go out on the town.

Sunday [livejournal.com profile] frog_lady came over and we did a trade of yarn. She gave me some really lovely polar by Rowan in a nice persimmon color. I traded her for some sock yarn and I think she'll enjoy making the socks. She stayed over and we listened to music, talked about knitting and knit some. Sue got some work done and read book 10 of the series of unfortunate events.

And for the awwww factor: Sue wore the sweater vest that I made her for the first time on Monday. She looked lovely in it. She says it was nice and comfy and she wants another. :)

I can't believe how far you've gotten on your xmas projects, never mind that they don't seem to be going fast for you, I think you are getting tons done.

I have book 1 of the Leminy Snicket (sp?) series and I still haven't found the time to read it.

Have a fun weekend!
