lackadaisical and moody. that about sums it up.

getting plenty of actual work done. Altho no books ordered. Can't wait until accounting calls me to tell me they send the credit card some moola.

watched a fight blow up over on ravelry about the queer teen who got shot and killed last week. Sometimes people are to damn dry in their wording for their own good. hence the rather frothing at the mouth discussion of whether people should "care" b'c he was queer/black/a crocheter. Someone said "we should care b'c he was human and not b'c he crocheted" and while I really agree with that sentiment I feel that people need it to have more information than just that he was a young boy shot. We hear that all too often. So yes, he was a young black queer. And yes, he crocheted scarves for the armed forces in afghanistan. Sounds alot better than kid killed in school by another kid. (which is sad enough as it is, yes? but add to that another dimension of the human element and we all want to bake a casserole.)

Which brought out a whole 'nother level of discussions. Discussions about rascism and journalism. Discussions about being vocal in the queer community. About whether or not you can have a voice if you are not white/male/priveldged. Everyone came out with their claws and fangs. So much for the young man who was killed. We want to beat each other up for not having enough empathy. Pathetic.

finished the twined knit fingerless mitts. want to get the secret pal present done next.

sheesh
