Tonite was knit nite at the TW. I do so love them. Knitting with that group is always a riot.. conversations tend to wander from knitting cruises to drinking to cats.. and while that sounds tame.. the actual conversations weren't!! Sue joined me tonite cross stitching the wedding present. I was really pleased to see squirella.. she helped add to the fun of the conversations. Dear squirrel, I would love to take you for a beer just to hear more sometime. It was really good to see you.. I just wished I was sitting closer. Dannielle from the phillyknitters was also there. The usual TW suspects were there, with our lovely hostess with the mostest, Diane. And I was knitting my snowdrop. I am happy to report that when I left I am 32 rows from finishing the triangle before I pick up the edges. I am in total love with the way the color changes are going. I started at row 72 blending in the next color.. and I think it really is making the other color really pop. It makes me love knitting the shawl all over again (even if it is getting longer and longer) I tried taking a picture last nite of the color shifts, but alas, it defies fotos again.

But I have another surprise... Dear Amy: I know you said you would have me do it sooner or later.. and so I cornered a poor woman tonite to be my yoda. I am starting (drumroll) toe-up socks with the green sock yarn you spun for me. Again, no photos as of yet (heck, I just started them!!) But I am using the force, Amy... and I knew you would be so proud.

*** edited to add: I forgot! (I am really tired folks) I saw Martha last nite. It was really nice to see her, altho I'll admit I should have spent more time catching up with her. She brought me a great book about weaving spinning and dying that is FAB! I was really lucky to spend some time last nite looking it over (after I posted) and all I can say is WOW! Very comprehensive and great drawings. Thanks Martha!

You've fallen into the dark embrace of the sock knitters. Far more dangerous than the shadow knitters!
*teehee*

If you still have trouble reading my blog you can read it here on LJ at [livejournal.com profile] boogieknits but I won't get the comments if you leave them throught he LJ syndication thing.

well admittedly we atarted out talking about a bus tour.. then it became a train tour to artyarns in SF. then it morphed into a knitting cruise with a compatible group: men's volleyball. where we could knit all day watching gorgeous bodies (and we wouldn't be as picky as the officials who insist on them wearing their shirts.)

There really are knitting cruises.. I'm just too poor to consider them. Altho SUe asked me if I thought Olivia cruises would have one. :)

nah. I could read it.. just wanted to let you know.. I think it was the width of the lace pic that did it.

yup. socks. lovely yarn m'dear. Thank you!! so far it is going well.. altho I did frog back a bit last nite after getting 2 inches done.. I figure if they are toe up they should fit.. instead of being baggy.
