excited!

Well, my tickets are bought and I am headed down to DC tonite on the 5:30 train. I hope to meet up with my mother and Ian for an evening at the National Museum for the American Indian. They are having an opening tonite for guests.. my mother has 2 tickets but not 3, but somehow she expects me to get in (my charm perhaps? my smile? the fact that I'll be dressed to the nines??) Last nite so many people were waiting in line to go in they were open from midnite till 6am letting people in for free. That would totally be me.. midnite, waiting to get in to see this wonderful museum for myself!

I'm wearing black with the lovely snowdrop shawl (unscalloped and unblocked.. but who cares?!) and I have a nice natural labradorite necklace and my mother has promised me a quilled neckpiece I can wear with it. Ian seems to be also excited. The festivities will be going on all week, but I need to get home tomorrow nite.

This gives me at least 4-5 hrs on the train for knitting. I have a 1/3 complete baby sweater I've been knitting (Haiku from Knitty but with stripes!) and the Hush Hush I need to start. I'm really loving the Haiku right now, but I need to get myself moving on the Hush Hush as well. Pics when I get back of the museum and hopefully of my knitting progress.
