purlewe: (travel)
After a wonderful and quiet vacation I can say that i am rested and relaxed. I really do love Cape Cod and Provincetown. It is a wonderful little place that is constantly changing but still has enough cohesion and continuity to make you feel like you are visiting an old friend. If you have never been to the east coast, this is a place I would recommend. But then I am an east coast lover. Give me any state between here and Maine (and I'll also throw in NC and SC in the bargain) and I am a happy person. ** this is not to imply I wouldn't like the west coast. I have just spent too little time there. I did love CA when I visited)

We saw the sites, did the beach, slept in, bought stuff, had a FAB-ulous meal at my favorite restaurant, spent too much money, and generally had a lovely time. The B&B we chose was lovely. The weather was perfect (2 days sun, 1 misty rain- thanks Amy) and the people were fun to be with. Any time I can call my waiter honey and tell him he looks fab and be told "of course I look fab, but you should have seen me with my hangover this morning darlin'" you know you are in the right place. We never got to see cher sing live, but we saw her several times on her scooter. I would have done a whole bunch of other things if we could (like extend the time in Harry potter.. that would have been great. see cher and lea delaria.. and still walked on the beach without being tired)

I'm a little out of it today, but overall I am glad I chose to come into work today. Tidy up the loose ends so I can not feel sucker punched on monday.

Pics later. And also more details.. like the honking koi, and ambassador lehnen reports.
