This weekend went swimmingly.. and I hope if you are reading this, yours did too.

Got off work early and headed to the Poconos.. knit a bit on the bikini and some on CW too. When we got to Sue's folks I dedicated my time to Charlotte simply because I was so darn close to finishing. I got to within 8 rows on friday, and finished it without blocking on saturday. Wore it to church unblocked and then blocked it sunday afternoon. Wow, does blocking make such a lovely difference. So do a little dance and toss back a glass of wine for me.. charlotte is done.. and I love her. I won't start another one right away.. but I'll admit to being bitten by the bug and plan to make another sometime.

The bikini is getting closer. I have the bottom ribbing and 5 inches of the front done. I have to divide her up and make the two triangles to finish covering the girls. The 5 inches cover what I call the main full monty of the girls right now. so I can technically wear her.. sha, rioght! I hope to be done with the top this week so I can start the bottoms (boy shorts) next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

I had alot of help in this arena, but my quilt is pieced. Sue's mom said she wanted to quilt with me.. since I am in a machine quandary we took the pieces up and I pressed and lined them up according to the pattern. Sue has a machine up there I thought I would be using.. but Sue's mom Sheila took out her precious bernina and I didn't have the heart to sew with it.. and most likely break it. So Sheila sewed almost everything. I sewed a few pieces and did alot of pressing and lining up.. pinning and if needed, ripping. So the whole thing is done. Now I'll admit this is only a 3 ft sq wall hanging. I do not have binding, batting or backing picked out. But it was great to see it all done.. and honestly it looks great for my first piece that is larger than a pillow.

On a related but completely different question.. Sheila is looking for a wool batting for her king size quilt.. does anyone have a recommendation for where to buy one? She found only one place on the internet.. but I know there are more than that. Please drop me a comment if you have any. (I know what I'll be googling tomorrow.)

And I finished the 6th book in the Dark Tower series. It was good. I liked it.. but I have really enjoyed this series. If you are not a King fan I would say give this series a try.

I will try to get pics on here in the next few days.. left the recharger in NY and need to get it back. I have enough juice for some charlotte photos though.. Dinner tomorrow night with Craig and Tricia might interfere a bit with those plans. So you might have to wait a bit for her, but Charlotte is someone worth waiting for.

YAY CHARLOTTE!!!!
Pictures pictures pictures.
Ok I'll quit being obnoxious, I know you promised them. The colors are so gorgeous I'm just eager to see it finished.
I swatched for my bikini, no I didn't start it yet. *hangs head* getting there, slowly but surely
Bernina's eat fingers - that's all I have to say about that. It was nice of Sheila to do the piecing for you.
King size batting? There is a company making thin all cotton batting(high quality). Its what we use and Joann's carries the same company. I can't remember off the top of my head but it comes in a plastic bag marked twin, queen or king. If she can't find anything let me know and I'll keep you in mind when we place our next order.
